I recently booked a wine tour with Coco's Tours, drawn in by their premium pricing and strong reputation. At $250 per person, I expected a professional, high-quality experience, but the day was ruined by poor service, and the company’s response took only minimal accountability. While they admitted the service fell short and claimed to have spoken to the driver, they also suggested the issues stemmed from changes to the itinerary. However, with better communication from the driver, there would have been no need for such excuses, as any scheduling concerns could have been resolved on the spot to everyone’s satisfaction.
Our driver, David, displayed a poor attitude throughout the day. He failed to provide commentary, communicate effectively, or manage the group professionally when we ran behind schedule. At one point, he drove past destinations without explanation. Even the winery staff noticed his grumpy demeanor and commented on it. Honestly, the experience felt less like having a professional tour guide and more like being ferried around by a grumpy Uber driver. With better communication and a more positive attitude, the issue of running late could have been addressed at the time, leaving everyone satisfied and ensuring a good experience.
For $250 per person, I expected much better. Their vague promise to "review the situation" and refusal to offer any form of compensation—despite admitting the service was below standard—reflects poorly on their commitment to customer satisfaction.
For those looking for a professional and enjoyable wine tour, I recommend booking elsewhere. There are many companies that deliver a far superior experience and actually value their customers.
