This tour was incredible. Absolutely the highlight of my trip. Every part was great and I felt so well taken care of. As a solo traveler that was especially important to me.
I'm going to give a pretty through review here because I loved this so much and want to encourage everyone to book this.
My driver Ebderrahmane, was absolutely amazing. He told us little bits of information all along the the drive making the whole experience feel like a bit of a guided tour. He knew all the good places along the way to stop that had nice clean bathrooms. At our last stop he even recommended picking up a small decorative bottle to fill with sand as a souvenir. I had not thought about that and I'm so glad he recommended it.
Day 1:
Drive to Merzouga: This drive is incredible. You get to see so much of the diverse landscape of Morocco.
Our driver offered us the option to stop and see the monkeys or go more directly so we would be sure to catch the sun set. We decided to stop to see the monkey on the way back. So glad he offered that because we made with a colorable amount of time.
The camel trek was not super long just enough to give you a feel of it and not get soar. We then climed a sand dune and watched the sun set from the top.
**Do have money on you to tip the camel guide or buy one of their lovely fossils. I didn't have my wallet the other person in my group tipped him for both of us.
The meal in the camp was lovely followed by music around the fire and then a short journey out of the camp to see the stars. I've never seen so many stars!
The accommodations were nicer than I expected. Each room had a toilet, sink and small hand shower. Hot water is limited but there is some. The beds have plenty of warm blankets but if you come in the winter there is not heating so come prepared for that. The only thing I wish I'd packed was warmer socks for the night. (winter is honestly a great time to go)
**Get yourself enough water for the evening and morning at the last stop on the drive. The camp does have some but it's just nice to have what you need with you.
Day 2:
Waking up to see the sun rise over the Sahara was amazing!
We had a lovely breakfast in the camp before riding the camels be back to get in the car.
We then had a really nice hour long tour of an old city where the royal family first lived. The guide was excellent and very informative.
We arrived back in Fes in early evening.
