This safari was truly the highlight of my time in Tanzania. When my friend first suggested that we travel to Zanzibar I immediately said that there was no way I was going to journey all the way to the eastern coast of Africa without even looking into a Safari. We then began to research safaris and quickly discovered that there is a very wide range of what you can get based on what you are willing to spend. This 4 day safari ended up providing the absolute best value for what we were willing to spend.
Our guide, Antony, was so much fun to be around and incredibly knowledgeable. He was also an incredible driver which is a very important detail because you do end up spending so much of the safari in the car, Day 2 ended up being about 9 hours of driving from Mikumi to Nyerere. There are definitely some crazy drivers in Tanzania so having Antony behind the wheel provided so much comfort during the long drives between national parks.
The two parks that we visited were Mikumi and Nyerere National Parks. I think they provide great exposure to the different types of landscapes you can find throughout Tanzania. Mikumi was more grasslands and Nyerere was more bushlands. Both provided incredible views of wildlife but we did see pretty much the same animals in both parks.
The lodges we stayed at on Safari ended up being some of the nicest rooms that we had on the entirety of our trip. Both lodges offered pretty similar experiences with pools and wifi. They were very clean and if I was trying to stay longer in the region they would definitely be at the top of my list for where to stay.
Overall I would recommend Bujo tours and Antony with absolutely zero hesitation.
