We had the most incredible experience climbing Kilimanjaro with KLM Safaris. From the moment we booked (back in 2017) and due to the delays of Covid KLM kept our deposit and stayed in contact throughout making sure we could plan our trip without any disruption. Fast forward to 2023 and once arrived in Tanzania we received a comprehensive briefing to make sure we were given every chance in making the summit. Gilly and Augustino from KLM Safaris gave us the warmest of welcome and made sure we had a comfortable few days prior to the climb as we settled into our hotel. On the day of the climb we were welcomed by our team of amazing guides and porters. We booked a private climb so it was just the two of us and then KLM Safaris team. Our two guides Calvin and Anannia were incredible throughout the climb, keeping our spirits up, keeping us safe, and from sharing stories throughout we felt like good friends. The whole team played their role in making the climb magical, special mention to the cook Emmanuel and our waiter, also Emmanuel, who both made and served us delicious food over the 7 days. We are pleased to say after walking 7 days through the most spectacular diverse scenery we made it to the summit, which was an experience of a lifetime. On the final day we got the warmest goodbye from the team and another warm welcome back to Moshi from Gilly who was just as enthusiastic as our family to hear how we got on! I would highly recommend using KLM Safaris for your Kilimanjaro adventure - they are a local company who go above and beyond to make sure you as clients have a great time, but also that the guides and porters and the communities they are from are supported in many different ways. We plan to return to Tanzania again in the future and we have Gilly (KLM Safaris) on speed dial as we will be sure to book with them again!
