Orccha has always been a favourite destination, and the sunsets and monuments haven't changed at all; still stunningly beautiful. But the noise of what sounded like a hundred destination weddings is enough to drive away all thoughts of sunsets. The quaint eating places are now mechanical churnouts of tasteless dishes, their owners moving on to marriage hall pastures where the easy money is. The town was preparing for a VIP visitor, and the beautiful patina of the old buildings that lent so much charm, was slowly being dressed in a coat of saffron and pale yellow. We left, earlier than planned, terribly disappointed.
