Two trails were offered and I took the harder trail which needed a certain level of fitness and enclosed shoes (although some showed up in sandals!?) there had been quite a lot of rain and parts of the trails were quite muddy and slippery. Trail was up and down but offered some great views and some bird life to observe.
Breakfast was meant to be at the Cook Memorial but due to the weather forecast it was moved undercover which was a very wise decision because the heavens opened during our meal.
Breakfast was very enjoyable after the 3.5km hike. Would suggest that hikers have at least a light breakfast beforehand because you need some fuel.
Due to disease, shoes have to be brushed and sanitized on way in and out. Still took about half an hour in the guest laundry to scrub my shoes clean. Luckily my hotel provided a good scrubbing brush and a proper trough.
