We went on the Kakadu, Arnhem Land and Coburg Peninsula trip in September. We loved the trip, from the moment we were picked up by Dave at the appointed time from our hotel in Darwin until we were dropped back five days later. Dave was just brilliant. He had a formidable knowledge of the environment and wildlife we encountered on our trip, as well as the cultural and historical aspects. In addition, he was an amazing cook. We loved all the meals and the nibbles at sundown were appreciated. We felt well looked after.
We thought there was a good mix of excursions, activities and down time. We enjoyed being in such a remote area and learning about the wildlife from Dave. We found the visits to the Aboriginal sites and the European settlement very interesting. We also enjoyed the fishing trip. It was also good that on such a short trip there was some down time and the chance to relax on a couple of afternoons. We loved the camp, simultaneously basic and luxurious (if that makes sense). We really felt away from it all. We would have loved another couple of days there!
Although the journey from Coburg back to Darwin is a long one, the journey was well arranged with excursions and breaks ensuring it was a full part of the trip.
