Touring Antelope Canyon has been on my bucket list for years. I highly recommend this tour! The guide was incredible! Excellent experience!

This is a review for mainly the company rather than upper antelope. We visited both lower and upper antelope canyons on our trip and will review them elsewhere separately. Booking with Adventurous Antelope was reasonably straight forward but massively expensive compared to lower antelope. The cost drove our expectations up to a level where the experience sadly meant they came crashing down. We parked a good 20 minutes away from the canyons, sat waiting in the covered open air waiting area with no a/c for 30 minutes with ever increasing numbers of people arriving. There were about 60 on our time slot. 14 people per bus. We were assigned Deano (or could have been diago). He was young. He didn’t speak very clearly and in the bus with massively loud a/c only the front row could hear any commentary. When we arrived to rows of other tour buses we were lead into the canyons. Having put down the lower antelope canyon tour and the companies operating that tour, we were taken into the canyons. They are stunning but sadly the tour raced us through stopping for photos with large numbers of people in them which took away from the serenity of the space. The light beams (we booked 11.05 to ensure we saw them) were enhanced only by the guides throwing scoopfuls of sand up into the air making us all cough and having to cover our eyes to avoid sand getting into them. The photos our guide took with our phones were blurred and amateur to say the least - it became funny. We were in the canyon for about 40 mins max, 15-20 mins each way on the bus and walking in and out 10-15 mins. Our guide walked in ahead on the way out not speaking to the group. I got in the passenger seat next to him on the way back to see if he had any conversation. There was none. So in summary, yes go see the upper canyons but lower canyons are as cool if not better. Choose the cheapest option to see them as at 3-4 times the price of lower you do question if the cost is worth it and try not to choose this company as there’s no real guiding, just a bus driver.

This tour was amazing! Our guide was Lydell and from the start he was so friendly and made us feel really welcome & comfortable! He played some traditional Navajo music on the drive to and from the canyon and throughout the tour was sharing lots of information and stories with us, including personal experiences which was a nice touch. He was more than happy to take plenty photos for everyone and shared lots of tips and tricks for getting the best shots in the canyon. 10/10 would recommend to everyone! :)
