Due to ongoing protest in Paris, my tour got cancelled at the last minute. I have following issues with Viator regarding this-
[1]The instructions from Viator are not very clear. They simple provide address to meet the guide. That is not good enough. Unless a person knows French, it is very hard to get any help from the public. Tips like meet near a particular shop, sign the guide will carry, or the photo of meeting location etc., can make a big difference.
[2] The guide did not have any courtesy to meet me in person. She simply called me to inform that tour has been cancelled and amount is going to be refunded. But I spent money on Uber cab service to come early, had lunch nearby though it was not my choice, all this to meet guide 15-30 minutes before.
[3] When guide did not show up, thinking that may be, I am at wrong location, I asked others and ran back and forth between attraction entrance vs Viator GPS location but guide never showed up. Since I don't know French, it was hard to communicate and getting help was not at all easy.
Refund is not everything. Customer service and courtesy goes a long way which I didn't get.
