I did the Langley park jump (my first) with these guys today.
Glad I chose these guys as I almost booked one much further away.
You meet at the park where they setup a tent and a landing area.
You meet the guy who you will be strapped too. For me I think it was Don who has done 11,000+ jumps and many years experience. I felt very safe.
There is not much training to be had. Only because it is pretty straightforward about where to put hands and stuff.
Then you put on a harness and get in a minivan to jandakot airfield.
Before you know it your in a plane and it is time to jump.
The feeling is hard to describe and not at all what I expected.
I was expecting a heavy buzz, adrenalin, heartbeat, fear but there was none of that at all. Everyone will be different in this regard.
I very much enjoyed the jump and it is so unique to be falling like that and not be in an aeroplane or something.
Then you land and go home basically but don't forget your certificate like I did.
Some observations from the day to be aware of.
You will get filmed a number of times during the day even if you don't opt for it.
I am sure they might stop if you request I just couldn't be bothered to mention it and it caught me off guard.
The contents of your pockets get put in an open cardboard box sitting on the grass. I understand they perhaps avoid responsibility and you can't really bring lockers to a park but I felt there could have been a bit more control there.
Overall it was a cool experience to tick off the list and I think jumping into the CBD gives you a lot to take in on the way down.
