ATVs in Rainbow Mountain

Non existent communication from the operator. They don't answer on Trip Advisor or emails. I had to call to confirm. Very poor coordination and organization. It says 3:30 am pickup but they texted us the night before that its going to be 6 am and on the pickup day they came at 6:40 am. They don't come with the car to your hotel, you have to walk to the car. The van is very old with very small tiers that are not suitable for this kind of dangerous trip in the mountains. The van stopped on an uphill road in cusco and all passengers had to disembark and walk a block to where the van reached empty. The restaurant they dropped us at for breakfast and lunch is very bad with very poor food quality. The background information provided was very little and not until before the stop happens like they won't tell you whats next until you are there. They did not drop us at the specified place when returning and they asked us to walk to it. So its a scam this (hotel pickup and drop off) So Stay away from this operator.

Although it is not the fault of the tour operator - Rainbow Mountain is currently closed to tourists and has been for months. We were not informed of this until our tour was canceled less than 24 hours prior to departure. The short cancellation notice was very inconsiderate of the tour operator because we were unable to book another adventure. ****VIATOUR should NOT allow operators to be booking Rainbow Mountain tours until Mountain access is reopened. ****I also heard that some people show up for Rainbow Mountain tours and are taking to another "similar" location without being informed until they are on route - unacceptable! On the positive side I was refunded within 72 hours.

After driving there for more then 4 hours plus 1 hour on Atv, in rainy cold weather in the cold van , the guide did not take us to see the Rainbow mountain! He told us that as we could see the road was closed by the locals and digged out and refused to take us other way!!!!!!!! I am requesting a complete refund. The whole communication with them is so poor cause they barely speak English. We went with 4 other people and we all had the same awful experience. Our guide did not communicate with us during the whole 12-hours journey. It took them 1 hour to prepare ATV’s , while we had to wait outside in the snow. The weather was rainy for the whole time and they did not even tell me that it was not suitable for kids( I went with my 12-y o son). The whole day was just a waist of time cause we did not get to see theRainbow mountains!!!! Also, the driver kept opening the windows despite We asked him 3 times not to, it was freezing cold inside the van!! My son’s Atv ran out of gas 6 times!
