The pick up at our hotel was on time, however, the disorganised chaos at departure meant we left 40 minutes late. The boat is basic at best, quite uncomfortable and overcrowded. The crew said smoking was allowed after being asked by some passengers, however we complained, so no smoking on our boat. The ride to Maya bay took about 1 hour, whilst Maya Bay was beautiful, there were so many tourists it was a shuffle in single file to the beach where you could not swim. We had 20 mins here!!!!.
Then onto Pileh lagoon where we stopped with a million other boats and we’re allowed to go swimming off the boat for 40 minutes. Then, a 20 second drive past a “Viking Cave} where apparently there is an ancient drawing of a Viking ship on the walls, of course you can’t see anything as the boat passes. Then onto a small bay for some snorkeling, this was my highlight, but alas we were only allowed 30 minutes. We were then taken to Monkey Beach, but it was high tide, no beach and no monkeys!
We arrived at Phi Phi Don Island, again along with another mass of boats for a buffet lunch which was less than basic, very poor. I felt like we were marched around like cattle. After lunch it was a long boat ride to Khai Island, which has one bar and hundreds of deck chairs on this remote deserted island. Nothing else. Do not, I repeat do not sit in the deck chairs unless you are prepared to buy a drink or pay for the deck chair. We wasted over an hour in this place with hundreds of other people and boats.
Back to Phuket.
This trip cost about $140 Australian dollars, a complete waste of money. Don’t be fooled by fancy photos of paddle boards (they cost extra), kyaks (they cost extra) sumptuous buffet (more like school canteen slop) and pristine deserted beaches, (they are all packed). It doesn’t matter what company you go with they are all the same.
One small positive comment, our crew were lovely, very kind and caring.
DO NOT BOOK IN ADVANCE because if they cancel because of adverse weather you don’t get your money back, and I can assure when we were in Phuket in October, the weather turned foul and I heard a lot of tourists complain they did not get a refund when their tour was cancelled.
I would give this and probably other similar tours (like James Bond island tour) a big miss. If you can afford it, go to Chalong Bay and negotiate a private trip if you can.
I would never recommend this to anyone.
