Luxus-Douro-Tour – Vintage-Erlebnis

I have no words to express my gratitude to our tour expert João. He truly made this an unforgettable experience and took some out of this world photos/videos and possessed unrivaled knowledge of the area. So how it works, he picks you up at your hotel/Airbnb in a gorgeous vintage car and drives you to a couple of wineries, a boat tour and a yummy restaurant and a beautiful pastry basket and port on the way back. The tour took from about 9:30- 5 pm but since it’s private you have the leisure of customizing with Jaõa to fit your needs. I was able to visit Quinta Das Carvalhas (historic Portuguese owned vineyard with incredible views) Quinta do Tedo (a very charming and friendly winery with a really cool cave full of wine barrels for you to do a barrel tasting). My restaurant was Casa Do Arco and I highly recommend you go here, the views, the food and the hosts were five stars each. The boat tour was in a vintage wooden boat down the river with a lovely guide that taught me so much about the area, of course port and yummy snacks are provided here as well. By the end of this tour you will be tipsy, gloriously happy and full of knowledge - just as I had hoped. Needless to say, I wouldn’t ever do any other wine tour but this. This is the oldest wine region in the world and as such deserves a special and unique experience an average tour will never be able to provide, book this now.

We had a once in a lifetime time experience with João on our private day tour around the Douro Valley. It started with him picking us up in Porto at our request which was a really easy way to handle our bags since we were spending the night at a Quinta. We visited 2 amazing quintas, had a fantastic lunch in a beautiful location and had a private boat trip up the river with port tonics and more delicious food! It really couldn’t have been better or more convenient. The roads are small and it was great having a local drive us, in addition he was great with communication from start to finish!

We book our tour directly with Joao and he was fantastic! We were 4 and it was the perfect number for our chevy bel air'56 ???? The two wine tastings were amazing and the lunch!!! Oh the lunch time had something special and our tour was with someone that really loves his job, is company and his valley - Joao was 6 stars!!. He was our photograph all day! ???? We learn about wine - a lot! And about food, duoro traditions and about this special terroir. He prepared us a wonderfull surprise that you would have too!????????
