Joao was an amazing guide and provided a first class tour of the Douro valley. Although if we are honest ‘Guide and Tour’ really undersells what an incredible experience it was. What Joao doesn’t know about the history of Porto, the vineyards and the valley, isn’t worth worth knowing! His superb knowledge, perfect English speaking skills and above all his personable approach to the day, affable character and fun manner, made the whole experience hugely memorable and enjoyable. We had a wonderful tour to the Douro Valley with Riccardo! He had an excellent balance of history and conversation for the drive. Our favorites stops were the small village breakfast, the visit to Sandeman and the authentic lunch. It was a full day and so nice to have a guide that knew the area. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience visiting the Douro Valley with João as our guide. João shared a ton of interesting information and it was a pleasure to visit the valley with him and to learn from his expertise and guidance throughout the day. The tour itself was well planned with an excellent lunch of classic Portugeuse food that we really enjoyed. The port and wine tastings were also great and we enjoyed everything about this tour and would highly recommend it. We visited in early November and had a lovely day.
