Hi to everyone who is contemplating taking a Safari Jeep Tour.
I went on the Outlaw Trail Tour with Cowboy Bob as our host. The trails out and back was about 3 hours. Our tour guide Bob's microphone and intercom went out about 3 miles from base camp. At first it was bothersome but Bob spoke loudly and we were able to hear him ok. As we got out to west Sedona, the trail went from dirt road to back country rough. Not too bumpy but we climbed some pretty rough back roads down the same trails as the old wagon trains and stage coaches took. Bob described in detail all of the robberies and Apache Indians that were the on the run to be tracked down by cavalry and law. It was very interesting to picture what it was like back in the 1800's for sure. We were retracing their steps. This is what we signed up for!. Very exciting and were amazed at the agility and what these well equipped jeeps could do. after they were put in 4 wheel drive. It was really interesting to hear all about the history about the whole area we drove through. Bob' knowledge was amazing. He stopped a time or two to get out and take in the beauty of the red rocks as I had not seen that aspect of that Sedona area before. Well worth going and even after the sun started to set, he turned on the heat and offered blankets to keep us warm as the it got chilly when the sun went down.
Cowboy Bob's name fit him to a tee. He is the real Deal!
Would do it all over again and an excellent value for what we paid. Tip him well as it was worth every nickel. We did not find any gold . Yes we did : The TRIP.
Thanks Bob. See you out on the trail. Amazing scenery.
