Excellent choice of trip, everything was well organized. Especially the tour guide Steve, he made the tour really fun and we enjoyed it to the fullest
THIS IS NOT A TOUR! When I book a tour I expect to be in a group, with a tour guide. However, this was only the case on day 3. On day 2 I was all alone. I was picked up from my hotel, they brought me to the boat that goes to Green Island, they gave me a ticket and said here, have fun. The other passengers on the boat who had nothing to do with this tour were mainly families and elderly people, so I did not have anyone to socialize with. Therefore, I really would not recommended this tour if you travel alone.
Also the name 4-day tour is highly misleading, because it really is only a 2-day tour, but I knew that in advance.
Secondly, Enjoy a relaxing day on Green Island sounds great. There are certainly a lot of interesting things to do on the island, such as snorkeling, visiting a crocodile zoo, and taking a semi-submersible boat. However, what they forget to mention is that all these activities COST EXTRA. The only thing included in my trip was the glass-bottom boat tour, which only lasts for half an hour. Paying some extra money wasn't a problem for me, but IF YOU AREN'T WILLING TO PAY EXTRA YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A REALLY BORING AFTERNOON.
Furthermore, I think the trip is highly overpriced. Especially because I had to book a private hotel room, which I normally never do. The only reason I accepted this, was because I thought it would be group tour. If I had known in advance that it wasn't, then I would have simply booked a shared dorm in a hostel, and booked all activities by myself. I'm sure that that would have been much cheaper and I would have probably met some people in the hostel to socialize with.
All in all, I did have a good time, because the activities were great, but I just wouldn't recommend booking this tour to anyone, because you can easily book all activities yourself, which would probably turn out much cheaper and much more fun.
Everything about our Cairns travel was great with the exception of the accommodations. We were booked for the Doubletree and wound up in a 2 Star motel instead. Also we were shortened by one day, but our airline reservations were set up for the four day excursion, so we had to make our arrangements for the fours day ourselves,
Or something I would wish on anyone else!
