We had some mixed feelings about this trip. It's a beautiful drive from Jodhpur to Udaipur and we got there in good time. Our driver made us a bit nervous as he was looking at his phone and watching videos while we were driving down the main highway, which was fortunately not busy. He also was rather insistent that we make a couple of shopping stops. That said, I actually liked both places we stopped at, nice quality, reasonable prices, we got to meet some of the artists. The place where they wanted to stop for lunch, a hotel, was out of our budget. We tried to leave and were stopped and questioned by about half a dozen different people wanting to know what was wrong, why are we leaving, extremely pushy. I don't blame that on our driver or tour though, just something to look out for. We explained the problem to our driver though and he took us to this cafeteria right next to the temples and ate with us-food was much cheaper and actually one of the most delicious meals we had in India! We explored for a while and then left for Udaipur. The driver stopped at a couple places, once to show us where a bunch of wild monkeys were, and then to show us this farm with an ox-driven water wheel, which was really cool. Our guesthouse was a little ways outside the city and we didn't have exact directions but our driver kept in contact with the host and made sure we got to the right place. Overall, we enjoyed the trip.
