Very convenient. Took this from the airport to the BSI terminal. Takes about 45 minutes. On the way back, we pay slightly more to have a small bus pick up us from a designated spot very close to where we were staying (buses cannot go through residential streets in Reykjavik) and from there a quick transfer through BSI to a long-distance bus to the airport. The driver had our name in passengers list and was very quick and easy. Unless one is staying near BSI, it's well worth taking the connecting shuttle to the hotel.

I booked this transfer through Viator only a few hours before the transfer was needed. They had a small bus pick us up at the hotel, which brought us to the main bus station. It was a little confusing because they didn’t really tell us what was going on. We asked and they just told us that the bus was “through there.” We got on a big bus that brought us to the airport. We got picked up from the hotel at 12:01, made it to the bus station in plenty of time for the big bus departure at 12:30. Was at the airport at about 1:15. The cost was much cheaper than a taxi! Definitely recommend. Make sure if you have a hotel pickup, you are ready for the small bus 30 minutes prior to the departure time (it does mention it in the booking).

It was very easy to find where we needed to go once getting to the airport and the directions were clear.
