The best part of the Lunsu Trek is the excellent local knowledge of Rohit Singh Nayak, and of the local guide at Moldhar, Keshar Singh!
The second best part is the Devalsari Homestay set about 3 km from Moldhar village, which is set in pristine forest area. We also saw a couple of jackals running around in the morning.
Rohit made the entire trip very pleasurable, and was always there for me. He accompanied me on the trek, and his constant companionship made the time pass by very quickly.
Keshar Singh, an ornithologist and a lepidopterist with 8 years experience, is very well versed with the flora and fauna of the region. He is a wealth of knowledge, and was extremely helpful through out the trek.
The trek itself is a very easy one. We took about four hours to walk to the top, and about 2.5 hours to walk down.
The homestay is owned and run by the community, with even the cook and attendants having a share in it.
I have no doubt in recommending this trek to everyone who cares.
