I can not say enough good things about the Ho Chi Minh City: Private Street Food Motorbike tour. I’ve been talking about it nonstop since they dropped us off last night. This tour was a surreal experience that, unless you were born and bred in HCMC (or maybe speak Vietnamese), you will not be able to recreate on your own. Vejo, Thuy, and Jay arrived early to pick us up at our hotel, after communicating with us throughout the day via WhatsApp. They ensured that we had everything we needed for a successful first-time scooter ride through the city…masks, helmets, and even hand sanitizer. Traveling the streets on the back of a motorbike is disorienting at first, but they made us feel safe and well taken care of. Though there were just two of us on the tour, they sent three guides and motorbikes. Jay was the “support” guide and was gracious enough to carry our leftovers and probably ensured that we did not end up falling of the bikes. :) We rode with Vejo and Thuy who were awesome, patient, and well versed in their culture and city. We took off from the hotel into the night and in the 4 successive hours, visited 4 or 5 different districts, made 6 different stops, and sampled 11 or so food dishes. I have not talked about the food yet, but trust me that it was all very good, and there was more than enough food (and beer) to keep us fat and happy. All the while this great group ensured our safety, answered our questions, took the time to get to know us, and truly provided a memorable experience. As we were preparing to leave the hotel, Vejo said something that stuck with me…while this was obviously a job to him and the crew, his goal was for us to end the night as friends. Friends send food and sightseeing recommendations for friends new to a city. He did that. Friends hug each other when they say goodbye at the end of a great day. We did that. Friends wish each other safe travels for onward journey’s. We did that. Please do not hesitate on booking this trip. While I hope that you are lucky enough to be paired with Vejo, Thuy, and Jay, if not, I have no doubt that the other guides with this company will be just as accommodating, professional, and funny. Have a good time!
Cannot recommend enough!
We did this on our first day in Vietnam - it was the perfect introduction into not only the incredibly delicious street food but also to Vietnam/Ho-Chi-Minh in general. The tour combines food stops with sightseeing/cultural information about vietnam - the perfect all-rounder for first time visitors. The tour is really perfectioned and they think through every detail.
Our guides Thin and Catherine spoke exceptional English, could answer all our questions, made a lovely atmosphere and drove us to all destinations safely.
It was so cool to experience the Vietnam Traffic on the back of a motorcyle!
Thank you so much for this night - we will think back to it often????
Had an awesome time with Tessie and May as our guides. They made sure we had the best experience possible, sharing their culture and knowledge of all the delicious food we tried. It was paced well and didn’t feel rushed, allowing us to fully enjoy the flavours and night life of Ho Chi Minh. Would highly recommend :))
