This was a fantastic experience! Everything on this tour went so smoothly. I had emailed questions multiple times and they were so responsive and helpful. We were picked up in Reykjavic and the bus was very prompt and we weren't waiting a long time in the cold. Our guide /driver was Gretar and he was amazing. First, the bus is the same size as the other mini busses, but holds less people so there is more room for coats and backpacks. Gretar was great at explaining things, encouraging us and answering questions. On the site, another guide, Aurturo (spelling?) was also so kind, encouraging and helpful. Both of them really made the experience great as they are calm, knowledgable, and give clear instructions. The dry suits ARE tight around the neck, so if you have a strong gag reflex or issues with that, be prepared. You can get through it and they helped one of our group by getting a larger hood and adjusting the strap a bit. Practice relaxing breathing and keep looking straight ahead (don't drop your chin). Once you get in the water, you will forget it all. They told us you can wear as many socks as you want, so bring more. I brought 2, my daughter brought 3 and she said her feet were ok. Your face is cold when you get in but it lasts for a minute then you're fine. The water is amazing and so clear. The time goes really fast and you're finished before you know it. The coldest part is waiting to get your dry suit off at the end, because you can't do it by yourself. Even though Gretar gave the disclaimer that he isn't a photographer, our pictures were great and up on the website in the promised time. Highly recommend if you're interested in this.
