From the moment that I signed up until the end of my adventure Simon, my trainer, was in great communication. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I signed up that I knew I was in for something different. I had shot Pistols before and have been trap and skeet shooting. I did target shooting probably 60 plus years ago when my father was in the military and we had 22 rifles. This was none of that!
We started off of course with safety. This is to be expected and welcomed. From there it was the basics of a Ruger and it's 15 shell magazine. And then we're off to the range. There we did basic target practice and then went on into suppression fire.
Simon explained a lot of the basics of active shooter scenarios and what one would do if they encountered one.
Removed on from there to the AK-47 which was actually built in Bulgaria. There was a bit of distance shooting and then more of the active shooters sort of scenario. All in all I got lucky inside of that I was the only one who has signed up for the day so essentially I got a private lesson. I can't say that that's better or worse than if you have a small group inside of that if you're with the small group others might ask questions I would not have thought of.
Ultimately though it was a great experience and certainly well worth the price.
