We booked Discover Scuba in St Maarten in November 2024 through Viator, a Trip Advisor company. 5 family members were traveling arriving Tuesday, July 1st and diving Wednesday, July 2, 2025. We received emails up to 5pm Tuesday July 1st confirming everything was all set. At 5:30pm, we received an email stating from Viator saying the excursion was canceled. We paid $85 per person. The email said they could help find another dive company, however, it was too late to do so for Wednesday. Unbelievable. This created massive problems. We had excursions set for each day and it messed up our entire trip. Viator reached out to another scubadive company the next evening who could accommodate us, however, it was $145 a person. We already had our family trip, including budget and schedule, planned out. This is horrible of Viator. I recommend to never use them for any of your bookings. We ended up diving two day later and had to pay $185 a person to do so. The company we ultimately used said that was just horrible customer service by Viator AND that there are over many dive companies all over the island that always have availability and that should have never happed. It messed up our vacation and it cost us a lot of money we did not plan on spending. Shame of Viator!
