Masca von oben

Great trip! Hike was five hours rather than four - a bonus for us. Loads of flowers and butterflies. Some great views, especially of Teide. Mostly quite well shaded, but the odd uphill part in the sun. Some slippery downhill parts so would recommend shoes with a good sole.

We went on the Masca from above hike on 21/03/2023. Andy was a great guide and kept the pace just right for our group of 9. We had great email communication before the hike and then text messages the day before to let us know details of the car and driver who would be picking us up. Time keeping was excellent throughout and we were never kept waiting. The hike itself was really enjoyable. My husband (60) and myself (58) are not what you'd call regular hikers but we found the walk quite easy going. You will need good shoes and appropriate clothing as recommended by Andy. I have rated the experience as very good as the weather was not great. Obviously there was nothing Andy could do about that but he did take every opportunity when there was a break in the cloud, to take us where we could see the views. A clear day would obviously have improved our experience. Although the views were not great Andy was very interesting and knew a great deal about the landscape and plants etc. Walking through the mist made it a very different experience and very eerie. We had a fantastic day and would definitely recommend this hike. We will be back to Tenerife and will almost certainly book another hike.

Lovely hike and we were really lucky with the weather - sunny and clear all the way round. Andy is an informative, friendly, experienced and relaxed walk leader. I felt safe with him and he led at a very manageable pace. He picked me up on time and returned to resort to time. Communication was good leading up to the walk. The only difficulty I experienced was that I hadn't taken in the fact that the balance had to be paid in exact cash. Andy was patient and allowed me to go back into the resort and get the necessary change.
