Enjoyed this, but it’s more for the casual or semi-casual fan than for die hards. Lots of the actual music is glossed over, e.g. hardly any mention of Rubber Soul, Revolver, White Album which are three of their best and most groundbreaking albums. Instead the story is heavily weighted towards 1959-1965 and is more about the Beatles as a cultural phenomenon than the Beatles as a rock and roll band. I was a bit disappointed as I wanted to geek out more than I was able to, but my partner (less of a die hard) thought it was excellent.
The room for Hard Day’s Night has presumably been moved to the end of the exhibition and this disrupts the chronological sequencing.
One small easy improvement would be to install lockers for customers to use, as I had to carry a heavy rucksack around for the duration of my visit and this lack of provision for a £26 ticket was quite annoying.
