"1-tägige Wanderung und Camp mit Schildkrötenbeobachtung in der Paria Bay"

This is a fairly challenging hike that takes you through an undulating rainforest along the coastal cliffs of Trinidad. Along the way, stop first at a gorgeous, isolated beach with magnificent, towering rock formations. Then, proceed through the scenic forest where Dominic is excellent at explaining all the local plants and wildlife. Emerge atop the turtle head rock formation with panoramic views of Trinidad’s north coast and sea turtles swimming in the beautiful, turquoise waters beneath you. Then, descend down to stroll across another isolated, sandy beach where the turtles lay their eggs and more rock formations such as the cathedral rock arch await. Finally, make your way through one more stretch of forest to the biggest highlight of all. The Paria Waterfall is absolutely amazing, and when I went, I had the entire place to myself. Swim in the refreshing waters and enjoy the one-of-a-kind scenery before making your way back. This experience is worth every penny. Dominic did an amazing job of prioritizing safety and making sure I had everything I could possibly need including water, Gatorade, snacks, and a nice bake and shark meal afterwards. I absolutely loved this adventure. It was the highlight of my time in Trinidad.

I have my own hiking company in Trinidad and time and again I take some time out and camp out somewhere away in nature. Camping out at Paria Bay is fabulous more so during the leatherback turtle laying season and once again, being on the beach and listening to the waves crashing towards the seashore is always a highlight....the peace of the winds and the viewing of the leatherback turtle laying her eggs during the early hours of the morning still remains a dream come true. Putting it simply.....camping out at Paria is a must experience.
