I really enjoyed this hiking and biking tour of the Columbia River Gorge. The pace was just right — not too fast, giving us plenty of time to take in the stunning scenery. During the drive, we learned a lot about Portland’s history and had several interesting sites pointed out, which made the whole experience even richer.
The views were absolutely gorgeous — waterfalls, lush greenery, and sweeping vistas everywhere you looked. I’d say anyone with a moderate level of fitness will do well; the biking included some downhill and a bit of uphill, but nothing overwhelming. As a flatlander who could probably add more cardio into my routine, I found it challenging at times but still very doable. I’d happily recommend it to folks who are fairly active.
All the hikes were on established paths, so it was easy to enjoy without any worries. I went solo, mainly wanting to see waterfalls, and not renting a vehicle worked out perfectly. The cost felt reasonable for the amount of info, the experience, and the comfort of the trip.
The bikes were in great shape—shifted smoothly and made the ride enjoyable. Overall, a wonderful day out—great scenery, good exercise, and a nice way to see the Gorge. I’d definitely do it again!
