Our tour guide provided us with details regarding the history, culture and taste profile for everything we tried... which was a tremendous amount of food. He went out of his way to make sure the group felt comfortable, which went a long way for my four and seven year old. So comfortable, in fact, they tried tripe and crickets and liked them both! If you even entertain the idea of doing a good tour, it is imperative it is this one. A tremendous shout out to Octavio (sp?) and the time he spent making us feel like Oaxaca was home. Do this tour!

Spent many yummy hours on this tour with our terrific guide Octavio (sp?). I’m on my third trip to Oaxaca and cannot get enough of the delicious food one finds here. The markets we visited are stuffed with all sorts of edible goodies. With apologies for the metaphor, the convivially of the eight other strangers making up or group was the icing on the cake…a marvelous, geographically diverse group of people who enjoyed each other’s company as much as we relished the food we sampled.

I can't imagine touring Oaxaca without doing this tour first - on day one of your visit. Betsy did a phenomenal job talking about the local area, the history of the town and where to shop, but most of all, how to eat your way thru the markets. We would have been overwhelmed and missed out on same great eating had she not given us the pointers on where to go and what to order. You eat soooo much food on the tour different so be sure to come with an empty belly! Very educational and well rounded tour!
