Hop-on-Hop-off-Besichtigungstour durch Alesund

We have done city sightseeing bus tours all over the world. This service is like most we have found: At busy times (especially if off a cruise ship in the morning) they are packed with people and never run to time. My advice is do not get off if you have a good seat- do the whole circuit. Then later, say in the afternoon, do the tour again, when it is not busy and then get off at a main site you wish to see. I suggest Mount Aksla here. Be aware when the last bus is though or you could be stranded. You can walk back to the ship from here if miss the bus though. This tour was expensive but Norway is an expensive country. Think of this tour as a look round the city with a commentary and cheaper than a ship excursion.

Ich würde alle Hop-On/Hop-Off-Busse in Alesund meiden. Mein Mann und ich benutzten eine Firma; meine Reisegefährten benutzten den anderen. Wir haben beide schreckliche Erfahrungen gemacht. Sie fingen gut an. Die Busse sind komfortabel und es gibt Kopfhörer, um während der Fahrt ein wenig über die Stadt zu hören. Aber sie halten sich nicht an ihren angekündigten Zeitplan. Mein Mann und ich blieben zusammen mit einer anderen Frau von unserem Kreuzfahrtschiff (die die andere Firma gebucht hatte) oben auf dem Berg stecken. Wir warteten weit über eine Stunde, bis wir dachten, wir könnten es nicht riskieren, noch länger zu warten, um zum Schiff zurückzukehren. Am Ende gingen wir alle zurück zum Kreuzfahrtschiff. Der Bus keiner der beiden Firmen tauchte auf, obwohl sie im 20-Minuten- und 40-Minuten-Zeitplan fahren sollten. Mein Rat - zu Fuß. Die Stadt ist sehr gut zu Fuß erreichbar, sogar die Treppe zum Aussichtspunkt. Es gibt einen kostenlosen Shuttle zum weiter entfernten Aquarium.

As a frequent user of hop on hop off buses in many cities, I almost didn’t take the Alesund one because of other reviews. I had a fabulous experience today, and I’m happy I gave it a try. The town (city center) isn’t too large, but you get an extensive sightseeing tour that you could not accomplish on foot. I never had to wait for a bus, easily getting on and off at every stop while appreciating the helpful narration — and there are two large cruise ships in port today. I highly recommend the City Sightseeing Alesund Hop On Hop Off! There are a couple of similarly named companies. Make sure you look carefully to select this one.
