We pick up from most hotels in the downtown area if your hotel is not listed pick the location nearest to you. Pick up will be between 8 AM and 8:30 AM

    As we make our way to the Plantation site guests will see such sites as the marsh of Lake Pontchartrain, and an elevated expressway going through the Louisiana swamp. Also see what the Corp of Engineers are doing to prevent the next Hurricane Katrina catastrophe. You will also see such plantations as Evergreen where they film Queen Sugar the new mini series on the OWN and 12 years a slave.

It was a eye opening experience, I rated a 4 because of the self guided tour, which it was good, but I would have liked it to be a guided tour from an actual person. Overall, it was a great experience, and our driver Edward was very knowledgeable as we ventured to the plantations. It's definitely a must-see for the one who wants to see what our ancestors went through on the enslaved side.

If you need transport to Whitney Plantation, don’t use Crescent City. 6 1/2 hours on the bus, of which we had 1 1/4 hrs at Whitney.

Fun and informative driver, extra stop on Laura and Oak alley plantations for drop off of others which enabled us to get a glimose of them too. History at Whitney well told and described. A must!
