Kampong Phluk Floating Village, Siem Reap, Cambodia We stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy Cambodian food. and then we'll go directly to the the Kampong Phluk, flooded & fishing village of Tonle Sap lake, located just 21 kilometers from Siem Reap town.
Once in the lake port, we'll take a local boat from the ferry to explore the famous floating villages of Kampong Phluk. There, you can see firsthand what everyday life is like for the many families who make their living primarily from fishing. Most families live on the lake shore in brightly colored houses on long poles, so the high water levels are not a problem during the rainy season.
Explore the flooded mangrove forest surrounding the area, which is home to a variety of species, including crab-eating macaques and 3,000 inhabitants. We will then take you to visit a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island and enjoy seeing the sunset from a local boat on Tonle Sap Lake before transfer you back to your hotel in Siem Reap. 90 minutes
Siem Reap, Siem Reap, Cambodia Leave from village of Kampong Phluk and transfer to your hotel. 45 minutes

The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

Fantastic experience! The national park, historic sites, and waterfall swim was amazing. The floating village and sunset was like nothing I’d seen before. We had Mr Sophat as our driver for three days. He was excellent! Always on time and kept an eski full of cold water and beautifully rolled cool hand towels for us! We were treated like royalty. Our tour guide Mr Somat (aka Sam or Mr Clean) was the best! Great knowledge, sense of humor and brilliant photographer. He took us to all the best spots in the short time we had. An absolute professional! He was super friendly and brilliant with the local kids and our teenagers. 10/10!

We were so pleased we chose this tour. Our tour guide Samat (Mr Clean!) and our driver (Sophat) could not have been more obliging and helpful. Samat had an incredible knowledge of the area and was able to bring great insight to our trip. He is also a master photographer- even our teenager learnt a few things!
We really recommend going for a dip at the waterfall, the water was incredible and so worth it. Lunch was also a wonderful spot- all of the details really made a difference throughout the tour.
We highly recommend this company and guides!
