We booked this tour months in advance and confirmed all information via website before we set off for our 8-night Med cruise. The night before the tour, we checked email and text to verify tour details. We arrived at the prescribed meeting place 30 minutes in advance. At 15 minutes prior to the tour, when no one else was around, we phoned the operator. He told us that the meeting location had been changed and he had tried to contact us. We hadn't received any updates. He told us to get a cab. Although he said he would wait for us, it took us over 30 minutes to get a taxi through no fault of our own. We asked for the new location and he said he would give it to the taxi driver. When we were in the taxi, he spoke to the driver and the driver told him there was lots of traffic and we wouldn't make it. I certainly understand that other people were waiting for the tour to begin. However, the lack of TIMELY communication about the venue change is completely unprofessional. Thankfully, they gave us a refund, but we were left trying to find alternate plans in a very busy port city with limited time. When you book and pay for a tour months in advance, you expect to take the tour. If you are going to change a meeting place, please communicate that change before the last minute.
