  • The Temple of Artemis, Selcuk, Turkey
    Temple of Artemision in Ionia at Ephesus in Turkey, became one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It was built in Ephesus on a flat area which has turned into a swamp over the centuries. Today there are only the ruins of this marvelous construction of the Hellenistic Age which was made of marble and sculptured columns. The most beautiful remainings of this temple are exhibited in the London British Museum. The oldest remaining found dates back to 6th century BC. It was surrounded by 36 huge columns, later enlarged upon the orders of the Lydian King, Kreisos during the 6th Century BC. Most of the exhibits in the London British Museum belong to this period. The new Artemis temple was built in the 2nd century BC. It was located on top of the previous one and had tremendous dimensions like 121 columns of each 17,5 meters high. Unfortunately this temple was destroyed by fire and reconstructed but then again demolished by earthquakes.

We had a great day with Ali our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and such a lovely man. We had the right amount of time at each place. He took us for an amazing lunch in a delightful restaurant serving traditional dishes. Overall a top day. I would definitely recommend booking this tour!

I had an amazing tour around Ephesus with our guide Nagir. The pick up/drop off point right outside our cruise port was very convenient and transportation was smooth. We visited the ancient sites of Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis, and Cave of the Seven Sleepers. Our guide Nagir was very knowledgeable and flexible in our schedule. We also had a nice traditional Turkish lunch and visited the local rug and leather shops. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would recommend to others.

Fantastic tour. The guide is very knowledgeable and flexible to what you want to see and do while in town. You also get great extras like a tour of Turkish rug and leather locations with no obligations to buy but super interesting to see: the sites the sounds and the images will last a lifetime thank you !
