Its fairytale facade and opulent interiors offer a glimpse into Romania's royal legacy. Then we journey into the heart of Transylvania, where myth and reality converge at Bran ("Dracula's") Castle. Perched atop a rugged hilltop, this fortress has long been shrouded in mystery and intrigue, evoking tales of bloody battles and medieval legends. Then, we go to Brasov's Old Town, a medieval marvel steeped in history. Here we will unravel the enigmatic tale of Vlad the Impaler, the infamous ruler whose brutal reign inspired Bram Stoker's iconic novel. Finally, we indulge in Transylvanian cuisine at a traditional restaurant, savoring local flavors amidst cozy surroundings (optional).

    The former residence of the Royal Family, Peles castle is one of the most beautiful castles in the world. On every Monday and, from the 17th of September to the 13th of May, every Tuesday also, we will only see the outside of the castle and visit the palace gardens. We will go see Sinaia monastery instead, the smaller replica of St. Catherine's monastery on Mount Sinai, built in the year 1690.

    (In)famous for the Dracula connection, Bran is a former defense fortress turned into the Royal summer residence at the beginning of the 20th century. Build atop a cliff, its imposing presence is impossible to miss and not admire.

  • Brasov Historical Center, Brasov, Romania
    Often compared to Bruges, this piece of medieval architecture takes us back to the times when Vlad Tepes "Dracula" was living here as the military Governor. You'll learn about the woman who stole his heart forever and you'll walk the streets he walked, so many years ago. You will also see the third narrowest street in Europe, String Street. We'll have lunch at one of the best Romanian restaurants in the country and then you will enjoy walking the cobbled streets, or shopping at the many shops here. You'll also admire the Black Church, which was built by the German community of the city and stands as the main Gothic style monument in the country, being the largest and one of the most important Lutheran (Evangelical Church of Augustan Confession in Romania) places of worship in the region.

If you are thinking of booking this tour, do not hesitate. Cristina and her husband Daniel were incredible hosts from the moment they picked us up at our accommodations. It was an early start to the day, but they provided snacks and water and offered to stop for breakfast on our schedule. It felt very personalized and we saw a lot during our day tour. This was a 'bucket list' experience for me, but what was nice was that the 3 friends who came along with me also found it to be a wonderful experience. Because we were a private group, Cristina was incredibly flexible to accommodate the schedule to our needs, adding in an extra stop when requested. She was so gracious! It is clear she has a great passion and pride in her country's rich history. Romania is an amazing country and I want to see more some day. All of us in our group thoroughly enjoyed the tour and our time with Cristina and Daniel. Thank you so much for making this amazing tour even more special, but being such wonderful hosts!
