Alin was amazing. Communicated ahead of time, picked us up in lobby of hotel, and was a wonderful tour guide and driver. Made the drive go by quickly telling us about history of Romania and answering any questions we had. My mother was using a walker and he was assisting her at every opportunity.
Salt Mine was awe inspiring, lunch was amazing with Bear meat, and Vlads tomb was serene.
I can’t recommend Alin enough!

What an amazing place!
Could not believe how vast the mine was.
Reading about how it was created was fascinating.
We went by train, with just one change and it was a super easy journey from Bucharest. It’s a nice day trip.
Well worth the visit.
Allow several hours for the trip. Take into account that you have to catch the shuttle transfer from the ticket office to the mine and back. We only queued for about 5 minutes each way.
There are activities to do inside as well as the Planetarium (not included in the ticket).
We stopped off at the hotel by the train station and had a late lunch there as well.

This experience was perfect from start to finish. Our guide, Octavian, communicated with us before the trip to confirm pickup location & time and this was greatly appreciated. Octavian was extremely knowledgeable about Romanian history which he shared with photos throughout the drive. We arrived at the Salt Mine ahead of the crowds and Octavian guided us through the entire entry process and accompanied us into the mine. The mine was incredibly beautiful and we were provided with as much time as we needed to take it all in! Following this part of the tour Octavian drove us to Casa Seciu where we enjoyed a delicious winery lunch and views. Our final stop was at Snagov Monastery. This beautiful structure was definitely worth seeing. And, of course, we loved hearing the historical information about Vlad the Impaler that Octavian shared. An awesome day with an awesome guide!
