My two friends and I went on the 8-day Ghana Heritage Tour conducted by Ashanti African Tours. The experience began when we connected with the Administrative team. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. Rosematilda, our contact person was highly organized, extremely informative, promptly responsive, and exhibited consummate professionalism at all times.
Our guide, Foster Frimpong was exceptional. It was apparent in everything he did that he held himself to the highest level of professionalism. He was a wealth of information and like every good teacher he shared the information with us while riding the tour bus preparing us for what we would be encountering at the next stop; this allowed me to better understand and absorb the information we received at each of the site visits. He extended himself to the point that we felt we were traveling with a very knowledgeable family member. He was on top of all our requests and needs such as bathroom breaks, distributing water, providing music, and ensuring that the temperature in the bus was always comfortable. He truly could be an exceptional trainer for other tour guides.
Our driver, Ibrahim was the epitome of professionalism. He was knowledgeable, an exceptional chauffeur, and made us feel as if we were traveling with a very competent family member. He made it a point to help us take pictures, especially group pictures. He pointed out things of interest as we were on the road.
As far as accommodations, they were each exemplary hotels with exemplary staff. Great choices!! As for our meals, I am from Panama, Central America. It made my heart so happy to find so many foods that we eat that we brought from our Ghanaian roots. Every meal was nutritious, delicious, and a glimpse into true Ghanaian food.
I have returned home and encouraged all my friends and family members to reach out to you to schedule this same trip. This trip exceeded all my expectations. I was educated. I was enlightened as to who I am and where I came from. I was affirmed that I, a black person am of worth(my ancestors were of worth). I cannot put into words or thank you enough for a trip filled with learning, pain, joy, and exaltation. You exceeded all my expectations.
Since I have returned home I have made it my duty to tell all my friends and family, especially my children about my trip and the fact that they must make this trip and the only tour group that they should consider is Ashanti African Tours. You have set a very high bar of excellence for any future trips I take.

Ashanti African Tours is a great, professional company that provided us with an excellent tour in Ghana. They tailor-made an itinerary for us, focusing on the wildlife we were interested in.
Our guide Jackson was incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife, and could tell which bird was calling from hearing just a short call. Those skills helped us see virtually every animal we had hoped to see, even when it required extra time hiking in the heat of the day. He was very attentive to our needs, providing us with water and extra food when necessary.
The lodges met or exceeded our expectations, with Ankasa Reserve Lodge being outstanding.
Overall, it was a fantastic tour and we highly recommend Ashanti African Tours to others seeking birdwatching or animal tours in West Africa.
The culture of Ghana in their parades, museums, markets, the Welcome nd Naming ceremony for African Americans, were fabulous, and the knowledge and expertise of our guide was excellent. Our driver was also excellent, we travelled like a family, enjoying the miles when we travelled, listening to music, joking and then reverently experiencing history and culture. It was simply amazing. The best tour of my life..
Our guide was Foster Frimpong, and our driver was Ibrahim Mohammed. Rosematilda helped us from the administration office before and during our trip.
