  • Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park, Assin Manso, Ghana
    Early morning departure from Accra to the Central Region of Ghana. We will make our first stop at Assin Assin Manso, the burial site of two former slaves from the USA and Jamaica whose remains were re-interred in August 1998 during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day Celebration. A visit to “the Slave River” or “Donkor Nsuo” offers the chance to see the place where captured Africans were washed before being confined in the Slave Castles to await shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean. It is a place where they had their ''Last Bath''.

  • Cape Coast Castle, Cape Coast, Ghana
    Cape Coast Castle served as one of the slave castles built on the shores of Ghana. It also served as the Administration center for British rule in West Africa. Participants will visit the museum and dungeons where slaves were kept while awaiting shipping to the New World

  • Elmina Castle, Elmina, Ghana
    We will make stops at Elmina Castle. You will tour the Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Monument built by the Portuguese in 1482. The castle was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, making it the oldest European building in existence below the Sahara. Participants will have the unique opportunity to listen to the stories of the infamous slave trade.

The visit to the Assin Manso River was an incredible experience! Brother Kofi’s guidance and knowledge were wonderful and helped to make this very meaningful. The castles were also powerful to visit. Lunch at the El Mina Castle restaurant: Anomansa was absolutely delicious! Jesse, our server, was also great. David, our driver and main tour guide for the overall experience was 10/10! He provided lots of information throughout the whole day; had great conversation and also provided space for us to reflect and relax. This was a day we will never forget. Thank you!

Our tour guide Frank was excellent very professional, patient, knowledgeable and was on time also was able to maneuver through traffic safely. I would definitely recommend this tour it’s definitely a must see for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of Ghana to wash my feet and hands in the same water as our ancestors was AMAZING!
