This full day excursion southwest of Addis Ababa gives visitors the chance to visit archeological sites as well as the intact rock-hewn church of Adadi Mariam. Believed to be constructed the famous king Lalibela.

I was also contacted last minute (literally as I was waiting for my driver) to change the tour for the day. As I had booked this two months previously and specifically flew to Ethiopia for this tour, I was very disheartened at their attempt to change me to an "Addis City Tour" instead. I have already been to Addis and if that was the tour I wanted, I would have booked that. Regardless, the tour was amazing & Haben was a delightful guide. I strongly recommend Haben!

A great day and an excuse to get out of Addis on a public holiday. This day trip is a must whether you're a history enthusiast or you simply enjoy sightseeing. Tour guide Haben and driver were welcoming and friendly with lots of information provided along the way. Lunch was a traditional Ethiopian cuisine and a local beer. The tour didn't feel rushed and lots of opportunities for walking around and taking photos. The only detracting issue -- and it's not the fault of the tour guides! -- is that the government doesn't appear to place a priority on maintaining or enhancing these historical sites so that they can be enjoyed and better appreciated by tourists and visitors.
