In this 2.5 hour food tour, embark on a memorable food adventure with a small group guided by an English-speaking tour guide and, most importantly, a local foodie. Guests will weave through the crowded streets of Shimbashi (or Ginza in some cases), and visit restaurants serving local delicacies that are not for the weak-stomached, such as blowfish (fugu), horse meat, and more, along with traditional foods such as sushi and yakitori.

  • This tour is for guests 18 years and older (all guests must be accompanied by an adult that is 18 years or older). Adults are responsible for dietary requirements of younger guests in the group, as well as their own dietary needs.
  • A private tour is available for booking. Guests may experience this unique tour with just their tour guide (not in a small group setting). Please note, however, that the Whisky Tasting (if selected, option), may have other guests. If you would like a private Whisky Tasting tour, please contact us.
  • Some establishments in Tokyo will allow smoking, and is out of our control. Please bring a facial mask to mitigate some of the smoke if desired.
  • If you cancel the tour any time after we have sent you the tour detail, the service fee of 15% of your total tour cost will be nonrefundable.

  • What if I'm late?
  • We ask that all guests arrive at the location at least 10 minutes before the designated meet-up time. Since this is a group tour, we may not be able to wait for you if you are late. The tour will begin without the late guests and you can meet the rest of the group at the next location. Guests are provided with the tour guides’ phone number before the tour and you can call the tour guide if you need to meet the group in the next location.

    Izumi was an amazing guide - very kind, knowledgeable, and fun. He made the experience truly unforgettable, and we had an amazing time! They were also able to accommodate our very last minute reservation, which we really appreciated. Izumi took us to great places with really interesting foods (think horse meat, puffer fish, and more!). He was extremely knowledgeable about Japanese history and culture, and it was really fun to talk to him; I feel like we learned so much. Highly recommended!

    We spent several hours in Ginza trying various "adventurous" food delicacies, and had a wonderful time. Our guide Mutusko did a great job of making sure that my wife got plenty of "normal" items to eat while I feasted on whale, horse and several preparations of fugu (blowfish). But, more than that, Mutsuko proved to be a very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly companion, and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her over the course of the evening. I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody visiting Tokyo and looking to try something non-touristy!

    My tour was changed date which au agreed and re-arranged my schedule just for this activity cause I really wanted to do it. On the day of the activity I went to the meeting point wait for 10-15 minutes and nobody showed up. They never emailed me to tell me it was canceled which is unprofessional. I even emailed them and never got any replies
