Aegina Waterfront, Aegina Town, Greece Aegina is a lovely island in close distance to Athens. This is why it gets very popular as a weekend destination for the Athenians. The most popular tourist places is Agia Marina, Souvala and Marathon with relaxing beaches, while very nice is also the seaside village of Perdika. The most important sight in Aegina Greece is the Ancient Temple of Athena Aphaia, constructed in the 6th century BC. 15 minutes
Temple of Aphaia, Greece The Temple of Aphaia is one of the major attractions that one can see on the island of Aegina. Built on a hill, at 160 meters, it is surrounded by pine trees and it stands out for its unique energy. Since prehistoric times (1300 B.C.) it has been a unique place of worship! 60 minutes
Aegina 180 10, Greece On the Southern edge of the island lies the small fishing village of Perdika. This is perhaps one of the most picturesque spots on the island and still has the characterictics of the Aegean style of square houses and narrow streets. Many tavernas to eat fish. From here you can take a small boat to the island of Moni. 90 minutes
Agios Nektarios Monastery, Greece One of the most visited sites on Aegina is the church of Agios Nektarios. Agios Nektarios was known as a great miracle worker, particularly as a healer of every sort of disease, he was also a prolific writer, theologist, philosopher, moralist, educator, poet, ascetic and mystic. 60 minutes

The experience of visiting Aegina on our trip last year was wonderful and our tour guide Nikos was highly knowledgeable and excellent. Nikos took us to the incredible ancient sites and monasteries of the island and the experience overall was unforgettable. Highly recommend.

We toured with Nikos two days in a row. The first day we took this tour and enjoyed seeing the countryside away from the crowds of Athens. Nikos was a great driver and shared so many interesting things about Greece and the areas we were visiting. After a ferry ride to Aegina, we enjoyed being back in his van (super clean and new) for our personalized tour to a monastery, the Temple of Athena, and smaller island for swimming. Loved being able to go at our own pace and get a personalized tour. He had great suggestions for meals/snacks and things to try. I highly recommend booking a tour with Nikos! (Day two we also had a great experience at the boat museum and Temple of Poseidon - all tours with Nikos are sure to be great!)

Our family had an absolutely amazing time touring with Nikos/Eudaimonia. If you want to truly experience Greece, its culture, history and food, in a “non-touristy” way, Nikos is the one to do it with! We started with a trip to the island of Aegina, not too far off the coast of Athens. Nikos picked us up at our hotel, drove us to the port of Piraeus and brought his car onto the ferry so that we could tour around the island on our own. We visited the church and monastery of St. Nektarios, had lunch and swam at a charming fishing village and saw the spectacular Temple of Aphaea. We also did another tour the next day. Nikos again picked us up at our hotel and we headed to Delphi then to Meteora, both of which were awe-inspiring and spectacular. Nikos truly knows all the “ins and outs” — the best places to drop us off, the best locations/views for pictures, the best tavernas, even the best ouzos! Our youngest, who is 8 and interested in Greek mythology, is already saying he wants to go back to Greece next summer and have Nikos take us to Olympia!
