Whale Watching Hauganes is the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland. We operate two classic Icelandic oak boats that are both spacious and extremely stable here in the still fjord of Eyjafjörður which is well sheltered from the open North Atlantic Ocean. We classify our tours as "slow travel" as you will get the chance of enjoying the beautiful landscape of the fjord along with its wildlife while not feeling in a rush or that you are interrupting the wildlife in any way. Our tours are carbon neutral as we plant one tree for each tour along with blending the oil with bio-diesel made in Akureyri (the capital of North Iceland, just 25 minutes south from us) from frying oils from local restaurants. You will find a restaurant here as well, a campsite, hot tubs down by the black beach of Sandvik and the famous beer-spa here just 5 minutes north from us. We include sea angling in our Whale Watching & Sea Angling tours, something that all fishing enthusiasts should try!

Watch the whales in this stunning Icelandic nature was simply the highlight of our trip in Iceland. And Im positive that the Whale Watching Hauganes was the perfect company to make this tour. The morning started in the office, where they gave us super warm clothes to use during the trip. Then we went to the boat and we were very glad with the number of tourists with us. They were very organized and we had a comfortable space on the boat to enjoy the tour! After 20 minutes on the sea, the boat starts to slow down and this massive silence takes over and everybody just wait for then to show to start. Then the nature spectacle begins with 2 Humpback Whales swimming beautifully next to us. We stayed maybe for an hour spotting then and other 2 whales that showed on the same bay. We had hot chocolate and cookies to keep us warm during the tour and at the end we went angling, to finish this amazing trip! Was unforgettable and we truly recommend Whale Watching Hauganes!

Très belle excursion avec à la clé un grand moment avec les baleines, tout simplement magnifique? L'équipage parfait et comme il faisait très frais nous avions à disposition boissons chaudes et pâtisseries maison. Un peu déçu pour la partie pèche qui n'a durée que très peu de temps et n'a permis de remonter à bord des algues! Mais à décharge on a passé beaucoup de temps avec les baleines alors l'un compense l'autre et le paysage est somptueux. Merci
