Come to visit the ancient city of Apollonia Albania. The ancient city was founded greek colonies in 588 BC and it is nowadays one of the most important and well-conserved archeological parks in Europe You will find Apollonia 12 km away from Fier city and also from the sea. You will also visit the Ardenica convent, one of the most famous historical and religious monuments in the country. this convent today is not only a cultural monument, where the monks continue to refuge. In the interior are placed the St Maria church, the San Triadhe chapel, the mill and the stalls for the animals.

Apollonia ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Es ist von Tirana aber schon recht weit; ich hatte den Fehler gemacht, bei der Planung vorher ins Navi nur "Dürres" einzugeben und nicht Apollonia. Trotzdem war es toll dort. Wir haben sogar freie Schildkröten getroffen. Der Blick aufs Meer und den Sonnenuntergang war abends auch sehr schön. Netterweise hat der Koch uns noch etwas zubereitet, obwohl es schon recht spät war und die Küche eigentlich geschlossen hatte. Saubere Anlage! Eintritt war 6 Euro pro Person.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our tour of Apollonia. We were especially pleased to have Julia as our tour guide once again. Fascinating conversation to and from the site made the excursion even more enjoyable. Thank you.

Historisch sehr interessante alte Ausgrabungsstätte. Alles darf man nicht berühren (Außenbereich wenig überwacht) doch schon ein wenig über die alten Mauern laufen- ein tolles Gefühl für Leute, die das Altertum fasziniert. Allerdings mit umgerechnet 8€ relativ teuer für das, was man sehen kann. Ist wohl hauptsächlich für das integrierte Museum (mit vielen Ausgrabugsstücken aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten) es gibt auch ein Café auf dem Gelände, was im März geschlossen war. Außerdem auch hier Straßenhunde(unaufdringlich) und im oberen Bereich weidete eine Schafsheerde . es war ein gelungener Ausflug
