The Peaks of the Balkans are a collection of beautiful and spectacular mountains shared between Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro. In 7 days, you will cross the border multiple times, go from one extraordinary landscape to the other and experience life away from civilization.   • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • This tour requires some hiking experience and good physical condition.
  • Mule or horse caravan, to carry heavy luggage, is available on request with an extra charge of 100 Euros per horse/mule/day. A horse can carry between 30 – 35 kg.
  • * The accommodation is based in traditional and simple homestay/guesthouse/lodge- style or shepherd’s hut with basic bathroom amenities. Each room typically accommodates two to five travelers, and it might be necessary for male and female groups to share a room, unless you book a private room. Private rooms are possible on 35 Euros extra charge per night per person based on availability.
This experience is non-refundable and cannot be changed for any reason. If you cancel or ask for an amendment, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Beautiful route with the nicest stops along the way in the most cozy guesthouses! The locals are super friendly and the food is delicious. The route is intense at times but the climbing is definitely worth it! The guide also ensures that everyone can go along at their own pace!

Our Peaks of the Balkans trekking trip was fantastic. The Choose Balkans team did a great job curating the itinerary and our guide, Saimir, was an incredible professional. His attentiveness to our safety and ensuring we enjoyed all aspects of the trip was truly appreciated, especially as a couple of us had unanticipated health issues arise. We loved the variety of lodging experiences, the authentic meals, the beauty and natural wonder of the trails and all of this was enhanced by the vast knowledge of the Balkan region that Saimir shared with us. Choose Balkans delivered on all aspects of our trip and we would gladly utilize them again in the future.
