Visit it’s open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops.

This is newly staged and opened ,so forgive if not fully functioning .The exhibits are ranging and wonderful ,staged superbly ,especially the Crocodile Deity Temple ,complete with mummified Crocodile .
We were all very excited by the entire experience and we are well travelled and not easily impressed ,so were excited to visit the shop to buy books and support in any way possiblle .Oh no ! The shop is not ooppenn yet ,disappointing indeed .
But a good reason to return to Alexandria ,stay at The Metropole ,revisit the wonderful Museums .

Karim was a great guide. We visited the library on our own the previous day since our tour was on a Friday, when the library was closed. Friday was a great day for the tour since the locals all stayed home until 1pm to observe their Sabbath.
