As a result of the earthquake, the mountains formed a gorgeous lake, the beauty of which will forever remain in your heart and which has long been one of the symbols of Almaty. Since March 2020, the road to the Big Almaty Lake has been closed to private vehicles for an indefinite period. At the moment, tourists can get to the Big Almaty Lake only on foot. But we found a way how to take our tourists directly to the Lake by car. Sometimes it doesn't work. Therefore the tour may be cancelled.

1. Good staff service and excellent on-time performance 2. The trip's schedule is unclear. particularly the delivery location 3. There is a rush to get to the Lake because the excursion is bundled with other One Day Tours.

After seeing so many pictures of the Big Almaty Lake, we had high expectations about this half-day tour. And it didn’t disappoint! The color of the water changes with the weather and is just so beautiful. The place felt very peaceful in May and we really enjoyed hiking and chatting with our guide Annat.

It is probably the only way to get to BAO now that the construction of the dam is ongoing. Those who came by cars or yandex would have to stop at this place and thrn you'd have to walk on the road in. It's a really long walk like 8km? So just take a tour in! We transferred from our van to a jeep and were driven right to the scenic viewpoint, passing many tired people indeed! It is an awesome view and very tranquil. It started snowing and then turned into a near blizzard in the hour we were up there. So do bring extra clothes or wear layers if you are going in spring! Our group was with Aigerym who told us a lot more about life and traditions and made the trip extra special.
