Salar De Uyuni (3 Days) Spanish Speaking Guide

The tour is great. We really enjoyed it and saw a lot more than expected. The first day on the salt flats was good, but for use days two and three in the desert, right down to the border with Chile, were brilliant. We stopped to see something every hour or two. As well as very different landscapes, we got to see masses of vicuñas and flamingoes, vizcachas, llamas, rhea, birds. The driver gave basic introductions but wasn't really a guide. Though he was happy to go deeper and chat when asked questions. We would've liked more info without asking about time to the next stop. What we would've liked is more time at some places to take it all in: sometime even 30 minutes wasn't enough. But to see everything all the way south and get back to Uyuni by 5pm on the third day made that difficult. That's the trade off. Accomodation and food was fine, though as recommended you do need to bring snacks and water for the road. It is a rugged experience and June is cold. We were warm in the beds in the accomodation, but be ready to be cold at this time of year, even right next to a geyser. Before the tour in the office the staff were patient with us: you don't really know what it's going to be like and all their advice was sound. An excellent experience. Mejor de lo que esperaba, con una sola nota dolente... El tour fue super lindo, esta parte de Bolovia es algo increíble, con sus paisajes infinitos, sin cruzar ni una casa... paisajes muy crudos que te sorprenden con sus colores increíbles! A apañarnos fue el guía y chófer Eduardo, una persona extraordinaria, muy amable y paciente, que trató de hacer de todos para hacernos sentir bien y cómodos. Y lo logró! SÚPER RECOMENDADO!! Buena y abundante comida para desayuno, almuerzo y cena incluidos en el tour. Única cosa que no estaba en línea con estos días super bonitos fue el alojamiento de la secunda noche. La verdad un lugar demasiado frío y muy incómodo. Una habitación compartida para todo el grupo (6 personas) con el baño privado y un olor de urina lo cual hizo todo mas difícil. Recomiendo a la agencia de buscar otro lugar para hospedar sus pasajeros en este caso.

The tour was well organised, the food was good, and our driver, Eduardo, was very experienced and knowledgeable. He was also a great photographer and made sure we had as much time as we wanted at each stop. We did the tour in June, and the temperatures at night were extremely low. While I expected the second night’s accommodation to be basic, I wasn’t prepared for how cold it would actually be. We had to rent sleeping bags (the beds have three blankets, which is on the limit), something I only found out about by chance. The entire lodge was freezing, and unfortunately, our room had an unpleasant smell. Bolivia is currently going through tough economic times, which may explain some of the conditions. Still, agencies should ensure the lodges are better equipped to host guests, perhaps by supporting them more financially. If you're visiting in June or during the winter months, make sure to bring proper winter gear and be ready for very cold nights.
