The tour is great. We really enjoyed it and saw a lot more than expected. The first day on the salt flats was good, but for use days two and three in the desert, right down to the border with Chile, were brilliant. We stopped to see something every hour or two. As well as very different landscapes, we got to see masses of vicuñas and flamingoes, vizcachas, llamas, rhea, birds. The driver gave basic introductions but wasn't really a guide. Though he was happy to go deeper and chat when asked questions. We would've liked more info without asking about time to the next stop. What we would've liked is more time at some places to take it all in: sometime even 30 minutes wasn't enough. But to see everything all the way south and get back to Uyuni by 5pm on the third day made that difficult. That's the trade off.
Accomodation and food was fine, though as recommended you do need to bring snacks and water for the road. It is a rugged experience and June is cold. We were warm in the beds in the accomodation, but be ready to be cold at this time of year, even right next to a geyser.
Before the tour in the office the staff were patient with us: you don't really know what it's going to be like and all their advice was sound.
An excellent experience. I would highly recommend Skyline.Traveller
