    Day 1: Valle de las Animas / Moon Valley / La Paz Walking Tour Duration: 5 am to 3 pm Distance: 145 km (90 mi) / 2hr hiking Altitude: 3650m (11.975 ft) Difficulty: Easy We drive about 45 minutes outside the city to visit the beautiful Valle de las Animas (17km of immense rocks, you’ll feel you’re on route to Mordor). We will enjoy a spectacular sunrise at the best viewpoint of the place (we will walk for 1.5hrs total). We enjoyed a breakfast box with our team.

    Then we go to Valle de Luna, a yellow valley that receives the name of ‘moon’ by the same Neil Armstrong. You will feel that you are on Mars!

    After the Moon Valley, we are going to explore the best viewpoint of the city! (ending the visit, we will start the walking tour)

    After returning to La Paz, we started our trek to one of the best restaurants for typical food (our guide will help you select good restaurants, remember that lunch is not included so you must take cash with you). Then we walk to the church of San Francisco, Mercado de las Brujas (to learn about local culture and beliefs in traditional medicine), and other historical points of the city: Jaen Street, Plaza Murillo, or San Francisco (depending on time).

Fantastic experience that started in Valle de las Animas before sunrise. Andres is an excellent guide who takes you up to a great vantage point to view the sunrise and the valley. From there, it’s off to Moon Valley for a 30-45 min hike through what looks like the moon. If you’re lucky like we were, you’ll see a viscacha! After this hike, you see the town of La Paz, the overlook, you can take the cable car, and walk down Witches Alley. It was all great!

Gabriel was the best tour guide we could ask for We picked a private full day tour around La Paz. Gabriel was very knowledgeable and helpful. He is very passionate about history and facts about anything we asked. He really took time to explain every place we visited . Super cool to spend day with someone local who really enjoys the city and has such passion for his country. Gabriel is fluent in English and Spanish. He was very helpful when I wanted to buy some stuff from locals or exchange money. He was able to get us in to the best restaurant in the city. Took endless pictures. Even when we drove or took the cable he was giving us more descriptions of what we were seeing and were heading to. Gabriel was very kind and took us back to the hotel. Thank you Gabriel for making our experience in Bolivia the best it could be. If you are heading to La Paz even for a day, I highly recommend you book Gabriel as your tour guide!
