Altun Ha, Cave Tubing & Baboon Sanctuary This combo tour will depart from Caye Caulker by sea on San Pedro Belize Express water ferry or by air on Maya Island Air; the choice is yours. Our guides will meet you upon mainland arrival in Belize City before heading off to Altun Ha.The temples are easily climbed and are not as tall as Lamanai and Xunantunich. and are not as tall as Lamanai and Xunantunich. Once at the cave tubing outpost, you’ll be given a basic orientation and safety briefing before heading off on a 30-minute hike which includes wading through a few knee-deep water streams.. If there’s time, and you’re open to added adventure, our guides may stop at the mini waterfall and swimming area. Next Your guide will show you the monkeys up close as they scamper across rope suspensions bridges throughout the village. You won’t miss the howl of this small monkey that sounds like it’s coming from a much bigger animal.

We booked this tour months in advance, after careful consideration of the many companies that offered this tour, because it was a tour (it said) we could catch on Caye Caulker, AS IT SAYS IN THE NAME OF THE TOUR, "FROM CAYE CAULKER." We paid more than some of the other companies because of that. They called us the day we arrived in Belize, which was the afternoon before we were supposed to take the tour, to say we would have to find our way to Belize City to catch the tour, as they did not, in fact, offer transportation from Caye Caulker. We argued with them about the fact they said that was included, it was in the name for goodness sakes, but they did not care and said they were not doing it. We called Viator to try to resolve the situation, only to be told Private Belize Adventure had simply cancelled our tour! Had they done this in the intervening months, we could have rebooked with someone else, but they instead waited until less than 24 hours before the tour! Viator was no help, saying the company's only obligation was to give us a refund (apparently, not notice of the cancellation), and they couldn't find another tour with the same stops the next day, so sorry. It ruined out first day. Fortunately, Jasmine at our hotel, Popeye Beach, was able to help us (despite it being after 6pm) find a substitute tour the next day with Auner of Nelson Maya adventures, who was absolutely awesome! So- don't trust Private Belize Adventure, they will NOT pick you up or arrange transport from Caye Caulker.
