Sorrento/Positano: Private Amalfi Coast Tour by Vintage Fiat 600

We hired six vintage Fiat cars (12 people in our group) to collect us from our Hotel in Vietri and drive along the Amalfi Coastline to Positano for lunch (stopping along the way) and then return back to our Hotel (door to door) in Vietri..... the day and experience was incredible. The cars (I think dating back to the 1960's, in all different colours, soft pastels) collected us at the specified time (by us) - each driver was exceptional (at each stop along our travels - for coffee, lunch or photo shoot, we stopped and swapped cars so that we could all experience different car, different driver and different position in our convoy :). Each driver was highly professional and provided a great sight-seeing (and informative) drive along the Amalfi Coastline (and there was nothing to fear, the drivers were so careful, drove very slowly - because the Vintage Fiats are limited in the speed stakes :) - as we drove along through the towns and along the cliff edges. The scenery was spectacular and the photo's we took were unbelievable - as well as fun - can you imagine 6 vintage fiats driving in convoy..... a sight to behold. The lead driver suggested the places to stop for coffee (local Amalfi guide) and then made our restaurant reservations in Positano..... (Ristorante Le Tre Sorelle... at the port). The guys also allowed us some shopping time in Positano... (a must do!) before taking us back to our Hotel. The tour was sensational.... we were like the locals spending a day out along the coastline.... and we loved every minute of it! The Company to deal with was also highly professional and so accommodating to our requests. We are all extensive travellers, have done all the tourist sights in Italy and this type of activity is very different, excessive fun, and oh so Italian! This truly was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Veriano was a great guide. We were staying in Positano and they were able to customize the trip. He picked us up at our B&B and took us through many stops in between Positano and Amalfi. Veriano was extremely knowledgeable about the Amalfi Coast and shared lots of information with us. We wouldn’t have gotten the same experience if we had rented our own car and drove around. He made it very special for us and took pictures along the way. Great memories made that day. This trip was really the highlight of our honeymoon. All the office correspondence had been brilliant leading up to the tip, and they arranged a lunch stop for us at the most delicious restaurant we ate at during our whole 2 weeks in Sorrento! Renato was incredibly knowledgeable, being from the area makes such a difference. We had free time in each of the stops and the novelty of the car was fantastic.it is quite pricey, being over £500 for a couple, and I'm not sure it is worthy of that whole amount, but we're incredibly glad we did this excursion and got Renato as our driver/guide.
