It was a wonderful tour. Not only did we see a lot of Amsterdam, but we learned a lot of its history as well. We were apparently the only English speakers on our not terribly full boat, and we chose to sit in the back rather than along the sides, so we could see in all directions, so we were sitting by ourselves. The captain offered to be our private tour guide in English, while another crew member was talking to the folks in the front and sides of the boat. The captain let a younger crew member whom he was training do most of the boat steering, while still keeping a close eye on him and taking over briefly during a few tight corners under bridges. We got a terrific tour and explanation of many of the buildings, how and why the Amstel river was originally turned into a canal through the city, and a lot of other interesting and amusing history.
Having an open boat as opposed to one with an enclosed cabin made it much easier to see everything. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and took lots of photos along the way. Highly recommend this tour!

Nico and Olal were excellent tour guides! The knowledge they possessed was unremarkable. We would definitely go with them again.
